Havering Council has granted advertisement consent – subject to conditions – for new six new signs, three new plaques and replacement awnings at The Crowning Angel, in South Street.
The pub, which was formerly called Yates, proposed for two of these new signs to hang from the side of the building, while five will be lit from LED strip lights across the top.
Also in the plans were replacement floodlights along the front and side of the building and updated awning fabrics over the smoking area.

The planning officer’s report concluded that, because there are already signs of a similar size, design and positioning at the venue, the proposals are considered “acceptable and complementary” to the rest of the street.
Conditions of the approval included safety regulations and a maximum brightness for the illuminated signs.
Yates underwent a two-week long refurbishment and rebrand at the end of June – reopening as The Crowning Angel on July 2.
The first floor is now home to a new sports zone, while the bar areas both upstairs and downstairs have had a refresh.
