With so much focus on the worldwide response to tackling climate change, local residents in Rainham have contacted Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham asking what is being done to support electric vehicle uptake in Havering.
Jon has asked Havering Council for the location of the Electric Vehicle charging points that are accessible for public use across Rainham, South Hornchurch and Elm Park and for the plans that the Council has to extend coverage across the area.
Mr Cruddas said: said “There is no doubt that people want to play their part in tackling climate change on a local level, but the government and councils need to make it easier to do so. One thing that puts some people off from having an electric powered car is the ability to access recharging points.
“This was raised with me by a number of local people in the Rainham part of my constituency and I have contacted Havering Council to find out what the current coverage is, and what plans they have to improve the EV infrastructure across the borough.”
