Robert Dean a coordinator from the anti knife crime charity Take A Knife Save A Life, has been nominated for a Pride of Britain award. Robert and Taksal members have played a vital role in our Havering community since they started two years ago.
The charity works closely with the community and local organisations offering support to local youths and patrolling streets not just undertaking weapon sweeps, but also being a visible deterrent.
Robert is well known across east London as a real community hero and much loved by everyone. He spends his time not only working as a Taksal coordinator but also volunteering for other charity events such as helping the homeless.
When he is not working, he is often found helping residents with their shopping, delivering food to the elderly and vulnerable or looking after the community. Robert is definitely a real community hero that is very much respected across the east London boroughs.
Taksal co-ordinator for Clacton Dave Curtis told the Havering Daily: “Being a Taksal coordinator I can see just how much work is involved in running a fantastic anti knife crime charity like this. Robert is a really amazing guy who dedicates his time working hard for the charity but also supporting our community however he can. He is a real people’s champion.”
Well done to Robert for being a true community hero.
