The listing is posted on the websites of both Punch Pubs & Co – who own the pub – and FindMyPub.com, which currently labels the listing as “under offer”.

Punch Pubs & Co is looking for a new ‘management partner’ – not a traditional tenant paying rent – but someone who runs the pub on a profit-share basis under a five-year, rent-free agreement.

The pub is set to be relaunched under Punch’s premium Fireside Collection brand after a “substantial investment”.

Punch claims that an annual wet turnover of £460,200 can be expected whilst a turnover from food sales of £455,000 can be expected.

A similar listing was made for The Spread Eagle in Brentwood – described as a “beautifully invested traditional pub” by Punch Pubs & Co.

The listing for The Owl adds: “We are looking for someone who can take care of both front of house and the kitchen and engage and motivate a team to deliver all year round best in class service.

“You will have experience of managing premium food led pubs and have experience or clear understanding of how to operate in a modern village site.

“Experience in delivering on investments will also set you apart from other applicants, we have big plans for this pub, and you will be able to demonstrate excitement and passion to deliver the project.”

A four-bedroom publican flat also sits above the pub with a living room, kitchen and bathroom.

The chosen operator will receive an uncapped share of top‑line turnover, according to Punch Pubs & Co – giving the flexibility to “pay yourself and your team in a way that works for your business”.

The operator’s own limited company will provide the day‑to‑day management of the pub, retain full ownership of team and operational decisions and manage associated costs such as wages and minor repairs.
