Vilage pub set to shut for refurb applies to extend opening hours

The Deers Rest, in Noak Hill Road, has submitted an application to Havering Council seeking a variation to its existing premises licence. The application has been made by Marston’s PLC.

The Recorder reported last month that the boozer is to shut on October 25 for a refurbishment.

According to the licensing notice, the pub is seeking permission to amend its premises plan to reflect a new internal and external layout, as well as allow films, recorded music and live music to be provided in outdoor areas.

The application also seeks to extend the terminal hour for the sale of alcohol, films, indoor sporting events, live music, recorded music and late-night refreshment.

In addition, Marston’s is looking to extend its opening hours and amend one of its existing licence conditions.

Residents and responsible authorities have until November 19, 2026, to submit comments or objections to the council. The licensing application can be viewed via Havering Council’s licensing register.

The application will be considered by the council following the end of the consultation period.
